Often shrouded in mist, the 1 600-hectare Forest with its deep gorges and steep ridges has always been a place of mystery, legend and final refuge. It is one of the most unique examples of surviving mist belt forest in South Africa. Streams in the forest form deep gorges and there is a waterfall in the Mome Gorge.
Take the Nkandla road out of Eshowe and continue for about 50kms until reaching the forest.
